Savor the Central Coast events were happening all over SLO. these past 4 days. It was a great time and a lot of hard work. I work for the APPLE Farm Restaurant and our Sister properties are the Cliffs Resort, Sea Venture, and Sycamore. First, we started with the Brown Sugar and Barrels event at the Cliffs Resort and shut down the Marisol Restaurant and Featured Chef Tanya Holland of the Brown Sugar Kitchen from West Oakland, Ca. She serves up some fantastic down home Southern Style cooking. All of the chefs from all of our properties got together and re created several of her recipes from her newly released cookbook, Brown Sugar Kitchen. I was lucky to be a part of making the desserts, key lime pie, smores pie, and a brown butter apple dipping sauce for the absolutely best beignets I've ever had from Tanya's cookbook, I must have eaten almost 1/3 as many as I fried. Afterwards we all got to mingle with the guests and had a super terrific time.
Everything was absolutely wonderful. I'll write more about the other events tomorrow.
This is our first Brunch at Apple Farm Restaurant which consists of a choice of entrée made hot from the kitchen with all you can eat cold bar and all you can eat breads and fresh assorted desserts and all you can drink champagne! We are starting out with Saturdays and we'll go from there. Come join us. Looks pretty yummy.
